For Fourteeen years I have taught adult Education with ages of students ranging 18-90 years old. I integrate Art History/ World History, life skills, all to help bring things into context, making every class setting a wholesome experience. Santa Barbara City College is an education institution which remains a neutral, unbiased forum, making it possible for all members of the community to come together individually and collectively, in order to improve their skills and understandings.
Art transends time, race, social boundries. It gives voice to the silent and to that which remains unspoken.
My goal is to inspire the student to achieve something extraordinary in their lives, to take the fundamentals they learn in class, and progress creatively in the world.
When they enter the classroom they bring with them their understandings and skill levels. My method in the classroom is to articulate, and demonstrate the fundamentals in a way that each student will be facinated by the art process and inspired to approach every opportunity with a renewed set of eyes. When they leave the classroom they leave with confidence, a sence of purpose; with more focus and direction. My hope is that they will passionately proceed in their quest to express themselves through art, and that they may experience an rennissance of the soul.
