Travel Sketches

I am extremely fortunte to have as a friend and patron, the novelist, Robert Eringer. Six years ago he commissioned me to travel to Iceland to paint the full moon and Northern Lights under the darkest and purest night skys, in Mid-Winter! Since that time we have been on a quest to reveal the mysterious connections between creativity and madness; traveling and painting the moonlit skys in England, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Andorra, Switzerland and Litchenstein. Together we have gone to the sourse; whether it was by inadvertantly staying at Machevelli's Home outside Florence, visiting the relics of St. Dymphna, (the Patron Saint for the Mentally ill) in Gheel, Belgium, or painting Mad Houses (Insane Asylums), along the way including the Klepper in Iceland, or St. Paul du Masole, the Mad House where Vincent Van Gogh was interred when he painted his moonlit "Starry Night". Robert Eringer has provided me with a continued source of inspiration and intriguing opportunities.
I am looking forward to the day he publishes his travelogue about our experiences on -
these journeys, entitled, "Surreal Bounce--Travels with a Nocturnal Artist". Visit Rober Eringer's website at www.roberteringer.com
